An unfortunate situation has come up during a Semi Final game# 4 of the Spring League 2023 T20 Tape ball B league between Lonestar Royals and Irving Raiders scheduled on 5/21/2023.
Lonestar Royals team batted first and then decided to walk out from the game before their inning finished citing unfair decisions by the umpires.
During the investigation and discussion with all parties involved, it was found that Lonestar Royals Captain Navin Kukreja sent a player to bat whose actual name is Kshitij Soni but was sent as Dankit Patel.
Kshitij Soni had not played the minimum three league games required to play in a play-off game therefore Umpires gave Lonestar Royals a warning but continued the game. However, after batting for around 17 overs, Lonestar Royals decided to forfeit the game and walked out.
After taking into considerations all the events, following decision/actions have been taken by DCL Disciplinary Committee:
1) The Semi Final #4 game is awarded to Irving Raiders Team.
2) Effective immediately, the captain of Lonestar Royals team Navin Kukreja is suspended from playing two game due to his attempt to misrepresent Kshitij Soni as Dankit Patel
3) The rules of Walkover penalty apply to Lonestar Royals Team.
a. Walkover Penalties $200 per walkover must be paid immediately.
i. Single Team: Two Walkovers per Calendar Year the team will be suspended from the league
ii. Common Teams: If a total of three Walkovers by both or any one team, both teams will be suspended
4) This should be considered as first warning for the LoneStar Royals player Kshitij Soni. Disciplinary actions will be taken against him if he is found to violate this rule again.
